Earthquake Reaches Temple Mount

Last Friday, February 15, a 5.3 magnitude earthquake struck the Middle East with its epicenter 20 kilometers east of Tyre, Lebanon, near the Israeli northern border. The jolt was felt all the way to Jerusalem, where it shook open a hole on the Temple Mount, in the paved area in front of the Dome of the Rock mosque.
The hole was 2 meters long, 1 1\2 meters wide and 1 meter deep, and was covered with wooden planks by Mosque officials.  The Islamic Movement blamed Israel for the hole (?!), saying that archaeological diggings in the mount have weakened the ground under the Mosque.

Islamic Anti-Semitic Remarks

In yet another verbal attack, Iranian President Ahmadinejad said on Wednesday at a huge rally of his supporters in southern Iran, that Israel was a "filthy bacteria" in the Middle East.  UN secretary general Ban Ki Mun, is reported to have called Ahmadinejad's remarks "intolerable and unforgivable."
In a similar remark, Iran's military chief, General Muhammad Ali Jafari is reported to have written a letter to Hizballah leader Nasrallah that "Hizballah's might is increasing with every passing day (in Lebanon), and that in the near future, we will witness the disappearance of this cancerous growth called Israel."

Isaiah 56 and "The Call" - Jerusalem
Praying with a World Perspective

I had been perplexed why the leaders of "The Call" (Lou Engle, Mike Bickle, Che Ahn, Rory Alec), asked me to help out with some spiritual guidance to this "sacred assembly" planned for May 11, 2008 (Pentecost), in Jerusalem. Early one morning this week, the Lord gave me a revelation concerning Isaiah 56:7 – "My house shall be called a house of prayer for all nations."

The house being referred to here was the ancient Temple in Jerusalem, and by spiritual parallel the Body of Messiah, both in Israel and around the world. God has a vision for a prayer center in which prayer will be offered for all the nations of the world from Jerusalem. The purpose of praying in Jerusalem is to pray with a global perspective.

Of course, one can pray with a global perspective from any location; yet there is something special in God's plan for Jerusalem to be a central location (kind of a spiritual capital) from which to offer prayers for the whole world. Just as Washington DC is a location to pray for the US, and Rome is a location to pray for Catholics, so is Jerusalem a location to pray for the world.

Dan Juster teaches that the 70 bulls offered as a sacrifice in the Temple (Numbers 29) were an act of intercession on behalf of the priesthood for the salvation of all the nations. The incense offered at the Temple was a symbol of prayer being offered to heaven which could affect the world (read: Revelation 8:3-5; Luke 1:9-11).

Today with the technology of internet and satellite television, the possibility of praying together with a worldwide perspective is made available to us. And how proper that is for worldwide intercession to be linked and connected to the local body of Messianic believers here in Israel.

Here are some thoughts on how to pray with a global perspective, a world agenda, coming out from Jerusalem:

  1. Acts 1:8 – World Evangelism: "You will be My witnesses in Jerusalem, in all Judea and Samaria, and to the ends of the earth," the completion of the Great Commission, breakthrough in every nation, particularly great harvest in Asia, the road to Jerusalem vision.
  2. Acts 2:17 – World Revival: "I will pour out My Spirit on all flesh, and your sons and daughters will prophesy," including miracles, prophecy, apostolic ministry, worship, etc.
  3. John 17:21 – Unity of the True Church: "That they also all may be one in Us," including purity, power and passion; the bride being made ready; reformation in the Catholic and Protestant denominations;
  4. Romans 11:26 – Salvation of Israel: "And so all Israel will be saved," including religious freedom, growth for the Messianic Jewish remnant, restoring the "kingdom" to Israel.
  5. Psalm 122:6 – Peace in the Middle East: "Pray for the peace of Jerusalem," including security for Israel, reconciliation between Arabs and Jews through Yeshua, fulfillment of Isaiah 2 and Isaiah 19.
  6. Matthew 3:2 - Repentance from Moral Decadence: "Repent for the kingdom of God is at hand," particularly in Western secular society, including sexual immorality and perversion, abortion, entertainment industries, spirits of Jezebel, rebellion, occult, etc.
  7. Luke 11:18 – Dividing Satan's Kingdom: "If Satan is divided, how will his kingdom stand?"  Binding spirits of Islamic Jihad and terrorism, anti-missionaries, anti-Semitism; persecution of Christian missionaries, the end-times' Beast, organized crime, etc.
  8. I Timothy 2:2 – For Government Leaders: "that prayers be made for kings and all those in authority," for wisdom, righteousness, correct use of government authority including police, military, courts, legislatures, the president of the US.
  9. Luke 19:13 - For Business leaders: "Occupy until I come," professionals in marketplace ministry, integrity, generosity, providing employment, fighting poverty and sickness, protecting the environment, work ethic, bringing the kingdom into real life.
  10. Revelation 22:20 – For the Second Coming: "Even so, come Lord Yeshua (Jesus)," for that day in which His feet will stand again on the Mount of Olives. This includes victory at Armageddon, the establishment of His kingdom on earth, the resurrection of the dead, etc. We Messianic Jews add our perspective to this prayer, "Blessed is He who comes in the name of the Lord" – Matthew 23:39. All prayers lead up to Yeshua's return. Since His return is to Jerusalem, those prayers are logically connected to that city as well.

Yeshua told us to pray "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on earth as it is in heaven" – Matthew 6:10. Here's another simple revelation: When Yeshua says "earth," He means the whole earth. We could pray it this way: "Your kingdom come, Your will be done on Planet Earth just as it is in Heaven."
