Knows Our Thoughts

By Asher Intrater

All of us will have to stand before God one day to give account for what we have done in this lifetime (Matthew 16:27, II Corinthians 5:10, Revelation 20:12-13). Yet God not only judges our deeds, He also knows our thoughts. Three times Luke mentions that Yeshua knew the thoughts of those around Him.

Luke 5:22 – Yeshua perceived their thoughts
Luke 6:8 – But He knew their thoughts
Luke 9:47 – And Yeshua, perceiving the thought of their heart

Yeshua said that adultery was not only an action of the body but an attitude of the heart (Matthew 5:28). The same is true about murder (Matthew 5:22, I John 3:15). Take note of the story of Sarah's laughing at the news of Isaac's birth. Did she laugh? If we had been there, we would have said, "No." She laughed only on the inside (Genesis 18:12), yet God counted it as a real action.

On judgment day, not only will our actions be revealed, but also the secrets of our hearts.

Romans 2:16 – In that day, God will judge the secrets of men
I Corinthians 14:25 – The secrets of his heart are revealed

Imagine on judgment day, standing on stage in front of billions of men and angels; a giant video screen descends and all the secret pictures of your heart are revealed. That should create the fear of God in us. Thank God that by true repentance and faith in the blood of Yeshua, the file of all those thought pictures can be erased and deleted.

Second Half of Prophecy

By Pastor Krzysztof Krajewscy, Cracow Poland

May the Holy Spirit give us insight into the future and help us to understand that the promise of Isaiah, recorded 700 years before Jesus was born, has been fulfilled only in its first part.

Isaiah 9:5-6
Unto us a child is born, unto us a son is given; and the government shall be upon his shoulder, and his name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, Mighty God, Everlasting Father, Prince of Peace. Of the increase of his government and peace there shall be no end, upon the throne of David, and upon his kingdom, to establish it, and to uphold it with justice and righteousness.

Jesus, no longer a baby in the cradle but Mighty God, takes the seat on the throne of the universe, preparing to fulfill the second part of the prophecy.

Transcendent Life

By Francis Frangipane (excerpt)

When people think of their destiny, they often think of something they will do for God, a task that involves the visible demonstration of a unique gift. But neither our gifts nor a specific calling represent the core reality of our destiny. That destiny is Christlikeness. If we believe that becoming Christ-like is the reason we exist, we would be in obvious pursuit of that transformation.

We have seen ministry leaders whose gifts and callings were so powerful, so captivating, that they seemed capable of bringing Heaven itself to earth. Then, to our shock, we discovered later that these same individuals were secretly in the grip of the most disgraceful sins. How could such things occur? When our primary goal is the development of our gifts or calling rather than character, we become increasingly vulnerable to satanic deception.

Becoming like Jesus is why we exist. When we pursue the image of Christ, we possess the meaning of life. (For full article, click www.frangipane.org)

Call Geneva

By Cody Archer

On December 8 – 12, "The Call" Geneva took place, organized by Gateways Beyond Geneva, supported by local Swiss pastors, and led by Bedros Nassanian, along with Lou Engle (The Call America).

The first day included 12 hours of prayer, fasting, and repentance.   The highpoint for me was when Asher laid hands on Jack S (Palestinian Christian leader) and began to fervently pray for the salvation of the Arab people; then Jack did the same for the Jewish people. The presence of God was so strong you could sense the healing power of God being released prophetically into this historic division.

Asher, along with Dan Juster, and other internationally known teachers, spoke in the “School of Reformation and Restoration.”  It was amazing to see different ministries from around the world and local pastors gathered in one place walking out such high levels of servant-hood, honour and a spirit of building the Kingdom together.  We are living in a day where Yeshua’s prayer for unity in John 17 is being answered in an unprecedented way.

The culminating event was a breathtaking praise and worship service on the evening of 12-12-12 with an overflow crowd at St. Peter's Cathedral (Calvin's original church). For more information see www.thecallgeneva.com.

Huguenot Connection

By Allan Nadler (excerpt)

In the darkest hours of the Holocaust, the safest place for Jews in occupied Europe may have been the southern French hamlet of Le Chambon-sur-Lignon. Inspired by the town's Huguenot (that is, French-Protestant) pastor, the residents collaborated in the war's best-organized and largest-scale rescue operation, hiding and saving the lives of some 5,000 Jews.

The Huguenot connection was hardly an incidental detail in this story. Rather, it marked a high point in a long history of Huguenot affinity with the Jews, traceable to the origins of French Protestantism and ultimately to the biblically-rooted theology of John Calvin, the "father" of Reform Protestantism.

[Note from Asher: In the summer of 1971, as a long-haired, Harvard undergrad, I was hitchhiking through France and passed through the town of Chambon-sur-Lignon. There someone tried to share the gospel with me. I didn't understand. Several years later when I became a believer in Yeshua, I realized what had happened.]
