Nevertheless I remain with you

By Marcel Rebiai
“My flesh and my heart fail; But God is the strength of my heart and my portion forever.”
Psalm 73:26
I would like to reassure you about two things. Firstly, we should not be afraid. Never believe that God has abandoned us when we encounter situations that push us to our very limits and make us weep. This is to be expected.
Secondly, we should never blame God or those around us for the situations we find ourselves in. We should know that God is with us, waiting for us to sow trust by continuing the struggle and telling him, “Despite everything, I will stay focussed on you, Lord. Whatever You let happen, I know You are good. I know You can turn my hardships around. I know You will overcome my limits, You will lead me out further and further.
As it is written, ‘He also brought me out into a broad place; He delivered me because He delighted in me’ (Psalm 18:19).
I know that you can make the desert within me into a flowering garden. No matter how many stones must be dug out of this garden, I will never give up. Lord, I know that after all the tears and toiling, You will fulfil Your promise: You will wash away my tears and I will rejoice.”
