Preparing for meeting God

By Marcel Rebiai
“How long, O LORD? Will You forget me forever? How long will You hide Your face from me? How long shall I take counsel in my soul, having sorrow in my heart daily? How long will my enemy be exalted over me? ” Psalm 13:2
This process often causes confusion, disappointment and doubt within us. We are not able to explain what is happening and the peace we were so familiar with seems to disappear. We fail to understand God and His Word no longer speaks to us as it once did. We suddenly have the impression that life is tougher than it used to be without Jesus.
The Holy Spirit led Jesus into the desert, and time in the desert always precedes an encounter with God, when He etches the secrets of His kingdom deeper into our hearts. Without desert time we never learn how deep our relationship is with Jesus, nor how serious we are about following Him. Desert time is also essential for the Holy Spirit to lead us into truth. Because He is the one who reveals Jesus to us, He leads us into our own personal deserts.
