Uniting Hearts: A Vision for Healing and Renewal

By Valerie Yanay

“This poor man called, and the Lord heard him; he saved him out of all his troubles.” Psalm 34:6

At the deepest level of our being as humans or as a people, we have this thread of hope called faith. It connects us to the Father and allows us to see His goodness. We pray that the people lift their heads and see hope despite the difficulties around them. This week has been especially difficult, with the discovery of the bodies of seven hostages found deep within Hamas’ tunnels.

Additionally, a video filmed by the terrorists showing seven young female soldiers taken hostage was released. These girls were in basic training with a friend of my son. This friend told me how well she knew each of them. They had just entered the army when their base was overtaken by the terrorists. The terrorists killed all the girls who tried to hide. However, seven of them were wounded and taken hostage. The terrorists tied their hands and forced them to sit while waiting for the vehicles that would take them away. They said and did horrible things to them. This short video shocked our people, showing the innocent faces of these young girls confronted with the terrorists’ hatred.

These young girls could be my children. They have been hostages for eight months now, and there are still 124 other hostages. We pray for their release. During our current 40-day discipleship program, we are experiencing intense moments and facing many challenges. Everyone has their own story and is processing it differently as they begin to heal. This week, we were able to distribute food to the poor and those who have nothing left. One of our disciples, filled with fervor, spoke of the Gospel at each location, distributing Bibles and testifying to God’s goodness. He himself was saved from drugs and came close to death, which gives him a great desire to proclaim salvation. I was amazed to see how many people responded to the call and wanted a New Testament.

Additionally, N., who comes from an ultra-religious family, found her way to the Lord. We welcomed her just as she had come to faith in Yeshua. We pray for even more healing.

“Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ! In his great mercy he has given us new birth into a living hope through the resurrection of Jesus Christ from the dead.”1 Peter 1:3

Our vision has always been to see the weakest strengthened. The one who can strengthen us and truly give us life does so through His resurrection. Yeshua, the Messiah, who paid the ultimate price, frees us from all distress. He is our real hope.

Every year, we organize trips to France with this vision. We are very excited about our upcoming trip which will begin in late June with 24 teenagers. We have a mix of young people who have each experienced war-related traumas. As I told you, the film about the capture of the girls has been seen by every young person. Each has seen horrors. In the face of their own traumas, we hope and pray that this trip will be a time when the Lord will strengthen them.  We will spend ten days in the south of France, warmly welcomed by our family of believers in France. Our young people will have time each day to meet with God and experience Him within the French countryside.

The young people do not know each other and come from different backgrounds and home lives. They will meet with French teens their own age and we will speak about the Kingdom of God in light of the challenges they face at this age. We call on intercessors for this trip, for the hearts of the French and Israeli young people to be united, and for the power of the Holy Spirit to renew and heal through the resurrection of Yeshua.

If the Lord lays on your heart to partner with us and sow into the lives of teens in this unique project, you can do so here. These young teens pay what they are able and we want to subsidize the remaining costs for them to participate. We want to invite you to sow into their lives, where they are transformed and impact their spheres of influence for the Kingdom of God.

Your support is dear to us, and together, we can make a significant difference in the lives of these young people and our community. Thank you for your generosity and prayers. May God bless you abundantly.

Thank you for helping us reach our goal!
